SUBSCRIBER-ONLY EVENT
Reaching Disengaged Students

This semester, faculty members on the front lines described a disconcerting level of disconnection among students. Far fewer than before were showing up to class. Those who did avoided speaking when possible. Many skipped the readings or assignments. They were checked out, stressed out, and unsure of their future.

In an exclusive virtual event for subscribers only, we explore the problem and suggest ways to fix it. This interactive session with Chronicle journalists and experts will dig into why this semester felt especially hard, examine how professors and institutions might re-engage students, and answer your questions.

Join us as we discuss:
  • Trends in student engagement and mental health
  • How to reach out to struggling students
  • Ways to engage students in the classroom
  • What type of institutional support helps faculty members burnt out themselves
