Academic institutions have continued to increase their cybersecurity efforts in the last few years to protect ideas and research shared online. Now, senior positions, such as chief information security officer, are being created.

Although common in businesses and government agencies, CISOs are still relatively new to higher education. They monitor cyber defenses and other online attacks that could compromise the institution.

In the upcoming Chronicle Virtual Forum, experts will share the evolving role of CISOs and how smaller institutions are addressing the need for one within budget.

Join “The Rise of the CISO in Higher Ed” on February 8th at 2 p.m. ET to learn more.
