Colleges have long wanted to make sure that all students are active participants in their learning, with greater emphasis on group work, opportunities to solve problems, and hands-on experiences. With in-person learning greatly diminished during the pandemic, where does active learning stand now and where is it headed?

In Active Learning for a Post-Pandemic World, a panel of learning experts, including Eric Mazur of Harvard University, joins The Chronicle to help answer that key question.

  • How has the digital transformation of higher ed affected the push for active learning?

  • How can technology help—or hurt—this effort?

  • What could active learning look like this fall, whether classes are in-person, remote, or hybrid?
